Battery specifications and test requirements :



First , battery capacity test

Battery capacity is usually measured in ampere -hours. The calculated battery capacity will be different at different discharge rates. High current discharge usually shortens the battery life, so the battery capacity is generally discharged at a small rate (such as 0.2C). At the same time, deep discharge will damage the battery. The calculation of battery capacity is relative to a cut-off voltage. The discharge capacity from the starting voltage to the safe cut-off voltage is the effective capacity value of the battery.


Second , battery life test

As the number of charge and discharge times increases, the internal resistance due to internal oxidation increases, which will cause the battery to fail to release the stored power, and the life will gradually end. The battery's cycle life (charged and discharged once is called a cycle) is affected by factors such as discharge rate, temperature, and charge-discharge cutoff voltage. Lithium batteries can generally be charged and discharged 300 to 500 times. For example, the standard cycle life standard for lithium batteries stipulated by the IEC is that the capacity should be more than 60% of the initial capacity after 500 cycles. Therefore, cyclic charge and discharge tests are an important way to evaluate the life cycle of various types of batteries.



Third , the battery internal resistance test

The internal resistance of a battery is related to the discharge capacity of the battery. The larger the internal resistance, the smaller the charge and discharge rate of the battery, which will easily cause the battery to generate heat. ITECH provides battery AC internal resistance and DC internal resistance measurement functions. The AC internal resistance is matched with a special AC internal resistance tester to apply a 1KHz excitation signal to both ends of the battery to measure the internal resistance value of the battery under static conditions. However, the actual battery use process also includes the polarization internal resistance, the impedance of the connection point, etc. The DC resistance test can more directly reflect the resistance value of the battery in continuous application.

Fourth , rich editing and stopping conditions

Users can choose different charging and discharging modes. The ITS5300 test system software supports CC / CW / CR and other discharging modes, which can simulate two charging modes: constant voltage and constant current.


The rich stop conditions effectively help users improve the safety of the test and avoid overcharging and overdischarging of the battery. A logical relationship of "AND" and "OR" can be implemented between stopping conditions such as time, capacity, and voltage to meet more complex testing requirements.
