The life of the battery is closely related to the use and maintenance. 1 Correct use of the battery 1.1 The correct installation of the ground iron pile. In the current agricultural vehicles, the battery used with the silicon rectifier generator is the negative grounding; the battery used with the DC generator is the positive grounding iron, remember not to reverse the reverse, otherwise the silicon diode will be burned out. The positive electrode marked on the battery pole is the positive pole, and the negative marked with the “—” is the negative pole; when there is no marking, it can be identified as follows:
(1) The thicker pole is the positive electrode, and the thinner one is the negative electrode;
(2) The oxide on the pole pile is mostly positive, and the negative is negative;
(3) The pole pile is dark brown and is the positive pole, and the light gray is the negative pole;
(4) It is also possible to draw a wire from each of the two poles into the same cup of brine, and one end of the large number of bubbles is the negative electrode.
1.2 Do not over discharge the battery. When starting with an electric starter, it must not exceed 5 seconds at a time, and the interval between consecutive starts is 1-2 minutes. If the start is not successful three times, the cause should be checked and it cannot be started continuously. When starting in winter, the engine should heat the water, and the oil should be pre-warmed to reduce the load on the starter and reduce the battery output current.
1.3 When the terminal clamp is not loosened, do not use force plates to move the terminal clamps to avoid loosening of the poles.
2 Battery maintenance 2.1 Always keep the battery clean. Electrolyte, dirt, dust, etc., which overflow on the outer surface of the battery, may cause short-circuit discharge and must be wiped clean frequently. The pole and wiring clamps should be kept clean, in good contact, and coated with petrolatum or butter to prevent oxidation. The vent hole on the battery cover should be kept clear to prevent the gas from expanding and the battery case to be broken.
2.2 The battery must be fastened and secured when it is installed on the locomotive. Also, there must be a shock pad to prevent the battery case from being shattered while driving. When the casing is found to be broken or the electrolyte leaks, it should be repaired in time.
2.3 Regularly check the liquid level of the electrolyte. When checking the liquid level, apply a glass tube with two openings. It is strictly forbidden to use the appliance. When the liquid level is insufficient, distilled water should be added in time (especially in summer). When the electrolyte leaks or overflows, the electrolyte with the original specific gravity should be added. After adding distilled water, the engine should be started for charging to make the electrolyte mix evenly.
2.4 Check the battery storage condition. Use an electrolyte hydrometer or discharge fork to measure. If there is no such instrument, it can also be checked by the volume of the speaker and the brightness of the light. It is forbidden to use the short-circuit discharge to check the size of the spark to prevent the battery from being discharged a lot. It is strictly forbidden to put conductive tools and objects on the battery to prevent the short circuit from damaging the battery.
