Hexion, the World's Largest Thermosetting Resin Manufacturer, Becomes the Third Largest Specialty Chemical Company in the United States

At the end of last month, Apollo Management, a private investment company in the United States, merged four companies that it had received in recent years and established Hexion Specialty Chemicals. Apollo said that the new company's annual sales will exceed 4 billion U.S. dollars, and it will be the third largest specialty chemicals company in the United States, and will be the world's largest manufacturer of thermosetting resins.

It is reported that Apollo's four companies in this merger are Keai Excellence Products Co., Ltd., Burton Chemical Co., Ltd., and dedicated material company and Bakelite company. Keesi Excellence Products Co., Ltd. is the predecessor of Shell Chemical Epoxy Resin Business; Keely Special Materials Co., Ltd. is the company of Apollo's acquisition of Eastman Chemical Company's coatings, adhesives, sealant polymers and inks business after its name was renamed in August last year; The company also received Apollo in August last year, the largest of the four companies. Another company is Bakelite, which evolved from Apollo's purchase of Germany's Rütgers company's phenolic plastics business in October last year.

It is reported that the CEO of the new company will be assumed by the President of Bolton Chemical Company, and the headquarters will still be located in Columbus, the capital of Ohio where the Burton Chemical Company is located.
