Nissan Motor announced on May 23 that it will expand the light commercial vehicle business in China with China Dongfeng Motor Group and jointly develop the next generation of medium trucks.
Nissan is working with Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFAC) to develop a new generation of medium-duty trucks, which will be put into production at Nissan Avila, Spain later this year. The new trucks will be launched in multiple markets. The specific situation needs to be announced by Dongfeng and Nissan in the future.
Dongfeng and Nissan executives spoke highly of the cooperation between the two parties and believed that the two companies' research and development capabilities and their experience in building cars will be jointly coordinated. The new generation of medium trucks will attract customers to the global market.
Nissan and Dongfeng have been working together for 10 years. Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Zhengzhou Nissan have already produced about 2 million light commercial vehicles.
