A few days ago, Norwegian subsea engineering expert Ocean Installer received a turnkey project contract to provide procurement and installation services for a set of extended mooring chain systems in a floating storage unit (FSU) in Malta.

The installation and connection of the mooring system will take place in Marsaxlokk Bay, where the FSU will provide regasified LNG fuel for onshore power stations.
It is reported that FSU will be supplied by Bumi Armada of Malaysia. The company obtained the contract in April 2015 and signed a contract with Singapore's Keppel Shipyard in December 2015 to refit the LNG FSU, which is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
