Sinochem Honeywell Jointly Produces Green Foaming Agent

Sinochem Corporation and Honeywell announced in Shanghai on the 10th that they have signed an agreement to invest about 100 million U.S. dollars and set up a cooperative company that holds 50% of its shares and will produce 12,000 tons of HFC-245fa annually. Foam.
The cooperative enterprise will be located in the Sinochem Chemical Park in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province, and it is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2013 to meet the growing demand for green foaming materials for the development of thermal insulation materials in the Asia Pacific region.
According to reports, HFC-245fa blowing agent is a liquid hydrofluorocarbon compound, is an environmentally friendly product that does not consume ozone at all. The product can replace the ozone-depleting 141b foaming agent commonly used in domestic small home appliances industry, and has a huge market potential in the field of insulation materials for electrical appliances, construction and transportation. In addition, Honeywell's new generation of low-global warming potential foam Solstice liquid foaming agent is also expected to be produced in the new company.

In accordance with the relevant international conventions, Asia Pacific is actively adopting non-ozone-depleting HFC materials, including foaming agents and refrigerants. In the coming years, the domestic market demand for green foaming agents will grow rapidly.
