Recently, Ulsan University of Science and Technology Korea announced that it has successfully developed the electrode material technology for lithium rechargeable batteries. It takes only one minute to charge the electric vehicle and half the battery charge in only six seconds, which greatly shortens the charging time of electric vehicles.

It is reported that the method adopted by the new technology is to make the chemical reaction of the electrode be performed at the same time on the surface and in the interior. At the same time, the method of allowing the electron to move freely like a fishing net is used in the electrode to increase the density of the electrode by 1.4 times. Thus, it is possible to charge and discharge in a short time.

According to the report, lithium-ion rechargeable battery related technologies, once commercialized, can be used not only for electric vehicles, but also for various mobile electronic products such as notebooks using rechargeable batteries.

Ulsan University of Science and Technology stated that the new technology has completed patent applications at home and abroad. The research paper was published on the 8th of August in the German academic magazine Angewandte Chemie.
