The first "underwater windmill" in China, Zhejiang University came out

In late April, a new type of ocean current energy utilization device, “Underwater Windmill”, was successfully tested in Haishan County, Zhoushan District, Zhejiang Province. The prototype of this “underwater windmill” model was obtained by Li Wei, School of Mechanical and Energy, Zhejiang University. Developed by professors, it is the first "underwater windmill" in China.
This underwater power generation device utilizing ocean current energy is a new energy machinery and control system, and its international research started in the early 21st century. The prototype is designed for a power rating of 5 kW, a flow rate of 2 m/s, and a rotational speed of 50 rpm. This test validated the effectiveness of key technologies such as blade design, driveline, sealing and system integration and provided feedback for the next round of design work.
The principle and structure of the “underwater windmill” is similar to that of a wind turbine, and its power comes from water. Its impeller rotates at a relatively slow speed, does not produce large noise, and does not affect people's sight. Various fish can still swim freely around the impeller; it does not need to build a dam like traditional tidal power. Therefore, while generating electricity, a good ecological environment can be maintained.
At present, Zhejiang's current energy resources rank first in the country. Especially in the Zhoushan area, there are many islands. The waterways between the islands are criss-crossed. The sea water passes through the narrow waterways between the islands. The flow rate is very fast, which can form a natural underwater power plant. Research and development of underwater power generation machinery can open up a new way for renewable energy utilization to alleviate energy shortages and develop local economies in coastal areas and islands.

Tower Crane Pulleys

Tower cranes typically use a combination of fixed and movable pulleys to lift and lower heavy loads. The pulleys are usually attached to the jib or boom of the crane and are used to change the direction and increase the mechanical advantage of the lifting system.

Some common types of pulleys used in tower cranes include:

1. Fixed Pulleys: These are stationary pulleys that are mounted at a fixed point on the crane. They change the direction of the lifting force and help distribute the load evenly.

2. Movable Pulleys: These pulleys are attached to a movable block that can be raised or lowered along the jib or boom of the crane. They provide additional mechanical advantage and allow for easier lifting of heavy loads.

3. Trolley Pulleys: These pulleys are used in conjunction with a trolley system that allows the crane to move horizontally along the jib or boom. The trolley pulleys help distribute the load evenly and provide smooth movement of the crane.

4. Counterweight Pulleys: Tower cranes often use a counterweight system to balance the load being lifted. Counterweight pulleys are used to attach the counterweights to the crane and ensure proper balance and stability.

It's important to note that the specific configuration and number of pulleys used in a Tower Crane can vary depending on the crane model and lifting capacity.
