According to reports, WABCO Holding has recently reached an agreement with Brazil's Agrale that WABCO hydraulic anti-lock braking system ( ABS ) will be installed in all light commercial vehicles with hydraulic brakes.
As of 2013, Brazil’s new automotive and road safety regulations have come into effect. In 2013, 40% of trucks, buses, trailers and passenger cars produced in Brazil were forcibly installed with anti-lock braking systems. By January 2014, all of the above models must have an anti-lock braking system installed.
WABCO said that light-duty vehicles with a gross weight of less than 6 tons in Brazil generally use hydraulic braking systems, while heavy-duty vehicles generally use pneumatic braking systems.
