Tarim Oilfield Company Becomes China's Largest Natural Gas Production Base

As of December 19, 2007, CNPC Tarim Oilfield Company had an annual output of 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas, becoming China's largest natural gas production area, and fulfilling the dream of several generations of oil people to build and develop large oil and gas fields in Tarim.

From the 1950s onwards, several generations of oil companies took responsibility for realizing the strategic replacement of China's oil and gas resources. They sought to find oil and gas scenes. "Taking hands on the hard work, the universal understanding of the world" has captured a series of world-class technical problems and found a group of high-quality, large-scale oil and gas fields such as Hud, Tazhong, and Dina, represented by the Kela 2 gas field.

The discovery of natural gas from Tarim has accelerated the implementation of the West-East Gas Pipeline Project and has also promoted the leap-forward development of natural gas exploration and development of Tarim. In 2000, natural gas production in the Tarim Oilfield was only 800 million cubic meters, reaching 10 billion cubic meters in 2006. Estimated production of 15.56 billion cubic meters in 2007, a total of 10 billion cubic meters in two years.
